The practice originated in the 1960s under the watchful eye of Mr Lionell Jacobs who was later followed by Mr Carl Jeppe in 1974. It changed ownership again in 1982 and was then known as Smit Optometrists for a short while. Mrs Cisca Labuschagne started practicing as Labuschagne Optometrists in Boom Street, Klerksdorp, after taking over the reins from Smit Optometrists in 1989.
In 1991, the practice was moved to the West End Building, and even though it eventually found the perfect home in the Wilmed Park Private Hospital in 1998, the practice has recently moved to Rockwill Square in Wilkoppies.
Many of the practice's original clients still have their eyes tested here, such as the son of the late Mr Jeppe, who is still part and parcel of the Labuschagne & Alberts Optometrists family.
In 2005, Cisca decided to take another colleague on board. As a result, Mr Klaas Alberts joined the practice's team and today their partnership is a winning recipe!
